The Journey

Miracle Morning 22/30

Happy Tuesday!

We are staying up late at night, watching House of Cards. My mom is in town and my routine is a little off track but that’s ok!

The Journey
One day you finally knew

what you had to do, and began,

though the voices around you

kept shouting

their bad advice –

though the whole house

began to tremble

and you felt the old tug

at your ankles.

“Mend my life!”

each voice cried.

But you didn’t stop.

You knew what you had to do,

though the wind pried

with its stiff fingers

at the very foundations,

though their melancholy

was terrible.

It was already late

enough, and a wild night,

and the road full of fallen

branches and stones.

But little by little,

as you left their voices behind,

the stars began to burn

through the sheets of clouds,

and there was a new voice

which you slowly

recognized as your own,

that kept you company

as you strode deeper and deeper

into the world,

determined to do

the only thing you could do –

determined to save

the only life you could save.

Miracle morning 21/30

Happy Monday!

It is amazing how 10 minutes of yoga poses in the morning can help so much. It takes away all of my morning aches and pains.

Beautiful sunrise this morning and I am feeling blessed to be alive and without disease or pain. It is turning into spring which gives me dreams of travel, adventure, and camping with my family!

Our goal this week is to read, read, read. I want to be reading every spare second I have. Less social media and more reading. We will see how it goes. Xoxo.

Miracle morning 20/30
We stayed up late last night watching “House of cards”, but I did complete my miracle morning. I’m finally on the last book/section of the huge Wayne Dyer book I’m reading, “Excuses Begone”. Here’s hoping it’ll be especially inspirational in helping me achieve my goals. My goal is to finish it this week so I can move on to one of these books.  Haha.

Miracle Morning 19/30
Oh, nooo! I broke my miracle morning streak yesterday! I overslept, woke up at 7, and had to wake my whole household up. My daughter missed the bus. I got Jackson to school on time by only a couple of minutes. Then I had an incredibly busy day at work. But, I am going to continue on!

Thursday night, I had a continuing education course I had to take to keep my social work license current. It took my 2 hours to get to the event and wasn’t over until 9pm. So I didn’t get to bed until late Thursday night which threw off my day Friday.

Today I woke up in time to do my SAVERS and went to yoga class. My hip was aching after my Zumba class yesterday, but after yoga, I am healed! My mom is in town so we took Jackson to the bookstore. I picked out a pile of books that I’m dying to read but in the end decided against buying any because I am already reading 3 books. I’m a little ridiculous! So after I finish my current ones, I am going to get a new one.

Not sure which one yet, though!

Happy Saturday!

 Miracle morning 18/30

Busy, busy, busy and I am and not waking up at 430 like a kid on Christmas, to be honest. I really started this whole miracle morning thing Nov 16. When I started it then, I was especially excited. Now I feel that I am in a bit of a rut. I’m still getting my savers done, but am missing the passion a little bit. I think some new reading material would help me but I still have quite a ways in the books I am currently reading. So I will keep pushing forward.

I loved my yoga class last night! I was exhausted after a very emotional day with a patient and tempted to skip my class but I didn’t and I’m so glad I went. I wish I could go tonight as well, but I have a continuing education course to attend to keep my license. Maybe I will make it to a studio this weekend. I have been missing hot yoga!

Off to get my day started.  Peace and blessings!

Miracle morning 17/30

Good morning! Another rushed miracle morning for me. Feeling exhausted today but going to push through and stay positive. Looking forward to yoga class tonight! I have a crazy week ahead of me at work. But I can do this!

Miracle morning 16/30
Thanks to a “hello” text at 430 this morning from my dear friend and partner in crime, I made it to the gym this morning at 0510! It felt so good to be there, too. I did my silence, affirmation, and visualization in the sauna as soon as I got there. I did weights for my legs, 20 minutes of cardio, and hot tub. Came home and made breakfast and read some Wayne Dyer. I feel so great!

Cassie and I are trying to meditate 3 times a day this week–morning, afternoon, and night for 5 or more minutes. I really noticed a difference in my mood by doing this yesterday.

Well, I’m off to get my day started. Xoxo

Miracle Morning 15/30
I am gulping my warm lemon water down in a rush as i only have a few minutes before I need to rush out of the door with the kids to school–ahh, Monday mornings. Jack has a new job that no longer requires him to wake up at 4am on Monday mornings which is good and bad. Bad only because when he was up and about, it was much easier for me to be up and about. But, today I overslept til 645 😕. Luckily, Hal Elerod speaks about a shortened version of miracle morning to do on days like today. It is still not ideal! I need to start saying my bed time affirmations to awake at 430 in the mornings again! I’m obviously not perfect with this whole miracle morning thing, but I’ll keep pushing forward.

Miracle Morning 14/30

Happy Sunday!

My hubby and I went on a date  night last night to see Dead Pool at the Movie Tavern. The food there is so delicious! Then we came home at finished up season one of Game of Thrones.  His birthday is coming up soon so I know what I’ll be getting him.  I didn’t eat so healthy yesterday, but today is a new day and I’m excited to start my week off right.

I am now completing day 14 of my miracle morning.  I was up at 730 and finished all my SAVERS.  Can I just say that I really enjoyed doing yoga on my new yoga mat? A quality mat really makes a difference. We are off to church now, so I will end this here. Much Love! xoxo

Jackson brought his stuffed animals in to join on my meditation time! Lol

Miracle Morning/Afternoon (oops) 13/30

I’m just getting to the scribing part of my SAVERS at 230 in the afternoon–oops.  Should it still count toward my 30 day challenge? Probably not, but I am counting it anyway.  Getting my SAVERS complete is better than not doing them at all, I think!

Yesterday was challenging at work.  Two of my patients were within hours of dying.  One was so fearful and all she wanted me to do was sit with her and hold her hand.  Even the last patient I saw yesterday was not imminent, but she had many emotional needs.  I could have spent all afternoon with her. We worked on an art project together (she has fabic markers and likes to draw patterns on pillow cases and blankets).  All of these were very powerful and beautiful experiences.  However, I really felt the need to decompress after my day.  So, I did some self-care.  I got my nails done after work and then took a Zumba class at the gym.

I haven’t taken a zumba class in almost a year, so I was a little nervous to re-enter.  But my friend from the gym and I decided to do it, and I’m so glad we did.  There were only four of us at that class, but I didn’t mind.  I’m a “white girl” dancing, but I don’t care.  It felt good to move and dance and have fun.  I’m going to make it part of my normal Friday evenings, for sure.  It’s a nice change from my yoga classes….kind of balances me out.

Then, I came home to a wonderful surprise.  My yoga mat I ordered two months ago finally came. I found this company on instagram, “FlowMatsYoga”, where the founder is supporting children’s education in India.  Every mat bought helps a child in India.  Not only that, but the mat is beautiful.  It has the sun salutations imprinted on it and it is super squishy with great grip.

Anyway, Happy Saturday! I will try to rise earlier tomorrow! xoxo
